Hardware
Hardware is chosen for its durability and appearance. Much of our hardware is custom built to our specification.
Frames
Both our steel trunks and wooden trunks are framed with cabinet-grade veneer core (birch hardwood plywood or cedar plywood). We use plywood, not medium-density fiberboard, for its strength and durability.
Exteriors
Wood Finish
Our wood trunks feature a knotty non-aromatic western cedar veneer applied to a plywood panel. This light-weight yet sturdy veneer is made in the USA exclusively for us. It is not finished, but it is ready for you to stain or varnish to your liking. The majority of our trunks are bought unfinished. Most leave them unfinished. We also provide a finished trunk.
Steel Finish
Our steel trunks feature cold-rolled steel exteriors. The steel is painted, dried, and then varnished to protect the finish. The steel is cut to size and applied to hardwood plywood panels. We use special machinery to cut the panels, but a surprising number of processes are completed by hand.
Accessories
Cedar Interior
Our cedar interiors are the highest quality, knotty, non-aromatic, western red cedar veneer available - the very same cedar we use for our wood trunks and cubes.
Nameplate
A field to enter the text to be engraved will appear when this item is selected. The name plate is 1"W x 4"L and has a matte silver finish. The tag has a non-removable sticky backing that can be placed to your choosing on the trunk.
Tray
Our two compartment tray is constructed of the same cabinet-grade wood core as our trunks and is covered with an attractive hardwood veneer.
Wheels
We make moving your trunk a breeze with strong, ball-bearing wheels that are made to last. The low profile, smooth-rolling wheels have a wide roll surface for stability. Based upon customer demand, our trunks are shipped with the wheels permanently riveted in place.
Handles
The handles of each trunk are made of high-grade leather by a company in Massachusetts. Each brown or black piece of leather is hand cut and then held in place with nickel-plated handle caps riveted for strength and durability.

Colors
Steel trunks are available in ten color choices at no extra charge: red, black, green, pink, lime green, white, blue, digital camouflage, orange, and light pastel blue. A varnish coat covers the panel to reduce scratching.
