Stanley Case Works was founded in 1946 in the small town of Stanley, Wisconsin. With a passion for wood working and furniture making, the founders began building trunks because they could serve a dual purpose; trunks could not only be attractive pieces of furniture, but storage cases to place valuable belongings.
In 2000, Stanley Case Works was bought by brothers William and Greg Stoeger. The Stoegers have continued the tradition of quality trunks that will last a lifetime. They also brought a new perspective to the art of trunk-making and have found new ways to creatively enhance the trunks while maintaining a competitive price.
Today, Stanley Case Works maintains it manufacturing operation in Wisconsin. Our products are available at some retailers across the country as well as through Trunks USA, our official online store. We are proud to offer an American-made product in a time when so many products are made off-shore. We continue to develop new products and would love to receive feedback from you so that we can continue to build products to meet your needs.
Our Products
Steel Trunks
Our steel lockers and cubes are "steel over wood" frame with nickel-plated hardware riveted for strength and appearance. How the nickel plated hardware looks is just as important as how it works. The overall effect is warmth, strength, and impressive quality. Our customers use our trunks as storage containers and furniture.
Cedar Trunks
Our Cedar storage trunks and cubes have a striking, unique appearance. Some customers have called our cedar storage trunks and cubes "Lewis and Clark" trunks. We call them casual furniture. These popular chests exude quality and are comfortable additions to almost any interior decor.
Quality Assurance
We continuously work to improve our products and while maintaining affordable pricing. For example, UPS test drops our packaged products from 19 difference positions and heights to ensure damage-free shipping. We continuously test new materials to improve the durability and ambiance.
Our Custom Trunks
We at Stanley Case Works, like to think that we are creative, marketing gurus, who can sense the tenor of the market and initiate some unique color change or apply a magic print to our trunks in anticipation of frenetic public demand. The customers get what they want: we sell a million trunks, make money and provide health insurance for all employees. Well, we are in a niche market and sell a relatively expensive method of storage. Customers seek value and not only price shop very effectively but demand the highest quality and immediate shipment (preferably free.) Hey, most of us are those kinds of customers.
Our "Flag" or "Patriotic Steel Trunks", with a high-end two color screen print top are perfect examples. Customers asked for them. Stanley Case Works did not dream them up. The same with our "Presidential Cedar Trunk" - with the presidential seal and the image of President Obama on the top of a cedar trunk. Our digital camo or “Camouflage Trunk” came about as a result of negotiations with a car company who wanted a digital camo print "just like US soldiers wear" in a hurry. That required three lithographic plates to be designed, manufactured, and colors perfectly matched to the army's camouflage uniform. After that order we thought that digital camo trunks would be popular on a national stage, so we continued to market and sell them.
Point is: we get many of our creative ideas from you, our customers. You have a desire for unique storage, or furniture, or display in the form of our retro trunks (you know, almost art), some printed with engaging designs on them. And we fulfill that desire. We would like to take the credit for all of our custom storage trunks, but the truth is many of our creations our derived from you-our customers.
